Significance
The significance of this book is that the author is trying to tell the reader in a point of the story that, if you are challenged to your potential you will succeed to excellence and thing will open up with all possibilities in your life. Throughout this story the boy (David) who's the main character is taught and his true potential comes out and he becomes a wiser person. In this book the author is trying to relate to the kids and it has an effect on our future in life by showing this boy getting wiser by being taught at a succeeding level. What you should take from this is that it's not if you think you know or don't know it is a matter of how you take a perspective of things, which I will discuss next.
Perspective
My perspective of this book is that if you believe in yourself things will come behind. Some points in this book may not be comprehensive to people of younger age say in the 3rd grade. So it can be made a little bit understandable but, I think the author was making this book for children of older age and maybe adults to teach them something. It teaches you that if you work hard things will come into place. In the book the Gawgon (Aunt Annie) died. She was David's teacher at home. When she died he got more focused on his work and became wiser. So what I am trying to say is if you have somebody to push you, you will succeed. That's my perspective of this book others might have different perspectives but that's what I got from this book.
Evidence
The information to state this opinion was right in the book clearly. It said it throughout the book not in words that clearly state it but it showed by the actions of the book and saying. In the beginning of the book he was just a boy growing up with his family living life ordinary. He became sick and couldn't get taught at school anymore. So, they brought Aunt Annie down to teach him and he life took a sudden holt and changed around and it became extraordinary. At the end he became wiser and got through life better. It doesn't really state facts but I believe it is true. I know for a fact these are just opinion you can have but in the long run they are true in some way.
Connections
In this book there was one big connection that occurs in peoples life so many times. The real world connection is that people as they progress throughout their school years they fall of track doing something that they got caught up in. In this book the main character David, didn't fall of track but by being challenged he stayed on track and followed through he school work. That's is a connection with everybody can fall under. It's been influenced by the past by many people doing something that gets them caught up. It can be girls, drugs or anything else that get you off track. I know somebody who had every thing going on grades and was great at sports, but he got involved with girls and all of the game plan changed. He could have been doing something good for himself but things got turned around. It affects our future because, if kids read this book or understand they can forget about those barriers that get in their way and go forth with their journey that to success. It affects both sides past, present, and future to learn by it.
Supposition
As a draw conclusion for this book. I would say life would be the same with or without this book. You just have to know that you shouldn't get caught up but challenge yourself to do better. With this book people can read it and understand what the boy did in the book and help them a little bit better. If I changed this problem a little bit I think the world would produce more people with potential to do something. Although others might still mess up but it will change it.
As I close my review I would say the book, " The Gawgon and The Boy," teaches you some valuable lessons. This is what I got out of it.
